Painting (Written January 2011)
I think I’ll paint a scene for you,
Of glories yet to be,
Of silver moons, and mountain views,
And sunsets on the sea.
I have said it, again and again and again, but if I could ask for a single talent, if I could ask to actually achieve one of my goals, it would be to be able to use my words to show people other worlds. If I could succeed in any one thing in life, it would likely be to use my words to change somebody’s life for the better. If I could give a blind man the joy of imagining a scene he would never be able to see, even if it isn’t the same, I would be happy. Words are the closest we can get to magic, and when we use them to write stories we are the closest we can get to creating any thing. With such power on the tips of our tongues, with such ability just begging to be used, what a waste it would be to not use it well. What a gift, right?
Don’t forget to check out the Jog-A-Thon page I put up. It is for my school, and it is a great place, so ever cent helps. C=
