On A Sunday Afternoon

On A Sunday Afternoon (Written September 1, 2013)

The sound of cicadas floats in on a breeze,
Moving over the sun that shines through the trees,
It shines through blue curtains as it enters the rooms
And warms up the air of this Sunday afternoon.

—OR—

The sound of cicadas, a warm summer breeze,
The dappled sunlight that comes through the trees,
Shadows cast by curtains all over the room,
And a pleasant nap on a Sunday afternoon.

So, I couldn’t decide which of these I liked better. They both say the same thing, obviously, just in different ways. If you happened to prefer one over the other, well, I’d love to know. =P

I love cicadas. I know they annoy some people, but I like them. They remind me of the first summer after we moved to the country side. They remind me of all the summers, actually, when I was little(r).  Those were some very fun summers. So, I like cicadas. To me they are a sign that summer is here. C= I also love naps when it is nice and cool inside, even though outside is really hot. I like taking naps on those days, right by the window.
