With Eyes Toward The Skies

What Can’t Come to Pass (Written April 26, 2014)

My heart is heavy,
My heart beats fast
As it waits for something
That can’t come to pass.

I watch it go,
See it sail on by,
And wish I could join it
Someday in the sky.

It’s sometimes surprising
How strongly I ache
When I know I’ll come closest
If I just use something fake.

But I don’t want the fake,
Nor the helped, nor pretend,
I want to have the really thing
And know that it won’t end.

So my heart is heavy
So I sit and sigh
And continue to wish
That I’d someday fly.

You know, have you ever looked up at the sky and seen a bird flying around and sort of just felt… jealous? Maybe I’m just being silly, but I would really, really, love to fly. I feel sick sometimes because I wish I could fly so badly. And I don’t mean in a plane. I’ve done that. It is too distant. I want to fly. Grr… well, yeah. I wanna fly. ‘Cause even just flying in a big airplane when you can’t half tell you’re off the ground was enough to make me want it more.

“Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return”
— Leonado DaVinci

By the way, I’m still looking for a senior quote. If you think of anything you think would make a good one please leave it in a comment or on my Quotes page. Or, heck, if you see one that would be funny/sarcastic/ironic please leave that too. =P
